Born in the ancient rainforests of Elshimo, the FFXI Mithra are a feline race. Presently most of the FFXI Mithra share Windurst with the Tarutaru as their homeland.
During the Age of the Beasts, the Final Fantasy XI Mithra were the race that stood up against the beastmen aggression. In fact it was the Galka and the Mithra races that fought the beastmen with all their strength. In addition, Final Fantasy XI Mithra was a part of the Grad Duke of Jeuno's alliance that finally defeated the Dark Lord in the Crystal Wars.
Since the males are a rarity in the FFXI Mithra race. The male Mithra stay guarded in their homeland and the female hunter-Mithras venture outside the homeland.
The FFXI Mithra are have a short stature, with the tallest of the race reaching around six feet and the normal height being almost four and a half feet. Their cat-like looks make them easily identifiable. A pair of pointed ears placed on top of their head, provide them an uncanny ability to pick up the slightest of sounds and their tail affords them great sense of balance. While the retractable claws make their cat-like features even more prominent.
FFXI Mithra are known for their energy and curiosity, and of course for their good-humored mischievous nature. However, they have a very short attention span so they are not keenly studious like the Tarutaru and nor are they totally tilted towards exercise like the Galka. This definite balance makes them good all round characters that can do particularly well in all fields but still never be the best as Mages or Warriors.
FFXI Mithra have shown themselves to be a peaceful race and perhaps that is the reason why they have managed to live in peace with the Tarutaru in a very cordial fashion.
Earlier, at the end of the Age of Magic, the Tarutaru closed off their borders to all races except for the Final Fantasy XI Mithra. This was a great compliment to the Mithra race's peace loving quality as the Tarutaru secluded themselves from all other races.
When playing with a FFXI Mithra, start from their homeland of Windy. This will give you a Windurstian Ring. The ring adds +2 Mind Power, +1 Agility and +1 Intelligence to your character.
The Dexterity of the FFXI Mithra race is something that sets them apart from other races. Due to their energy, agility and dexterity an overwhelmingly high majority of the FFXI Mithra take to the profession of Thief.
Ranger can be a good profession for the Mithra as well. However, they are not as capable of taking blows as the Elvaans or Galkas. So they are likely to fall relatively early.
All in all their physique makes them foes to reckon with. Their nimbleness makes it easier for them to evade blows if they are bent on it.
